The new Synthetic Organic Compounds Manufacturing Capability
brochure is now available from Alfa Aesar.
The 54-page publication, which contains thousands of organic compounds,
represents current manufacturing capabilities from Alfa Aesars
Avocado Organics plant. The list includes many unique building blocks that are
not available from other sources. A 12-page section at the back lists precious
metal compounds and catalysts that are also available.
In February 2002, Alfa Aesar acquired Avocado Research Chemicals, Ltd., which
added an important organic research chemicals component to the existing Alfa
Aesar/Johnson Matthey manufacturing portfolio. With the addition of Avocados
extensive production capabilities, in tandem with larger Johnson Matthey
facilities, Alfa Aesar now offers customers a single source for organic
chemicals from research to full-scale production.
Located in Lancashire, England, the Avocado Organics facility employs more
than 35 chemists, produces 60 to 70 organic compounds per month, and utilizes a
full range of reactions in the production of compounds. Typical lot sizes are in
the 10-100 kilogram scale. Custom synthesis, scale-up capacity, and custom
packaging are also provided through the Avocado Organics facility.

shipment and plants in the USA and England have the stock and manufacturing
capability to scale up to meet customers
