Elemental Form

A member of the rare earth elements, terbium is a silvery-gray metal that is both malleable and ductile. It is soft and can be cut with a knife. Terbium is relatively stable in air, but it can be more reactive in certain forms, especially powder. It is commonly used as a dopant in solid state devices and as an activator for green phosphors.
