Anwendungen

The product of Lutetium(III) oxide and palladium(II) oxide has a potential use in superconducting materials. It is an important raw material for laser crystals. It has specialized uses in ceramics, glass, phosphors, and lasers. Also used as a catalyst in cracking, alkylation, hydrogenation, and polymerization.

Bemerkungen

It is hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and carbon dioxide.
