Anwendungen

Rhenium(VII) oxide acts as a precursor to methylrhenium trioxide, organorhenium oxides which catalyze olefin oxidation, metathesis and other transformations. It is used as a reagent for dehydrations and rearrangements of allylic alcohols, oximes and amides, oxidative cyclizations, alkene metathesis and formation of bisperoxyacetals.

Bemerkungen

Moisture sensitive. Incompatible with oxidizing agents, reducing agents, metal powders and organic materials.
