Anwendungen

Strontium acetate is used as a catalyst, as a chemical intermediate and in medicine. The primary application of strontium acetate is as an active component in toothpastes. This compound is used to desensitize teeth to extremes of hot and cold, sweets, acids, or touch.

Bemerkungen

It loses water on heating to 150 °C. It must be kept away from oxidizing agents.
