Anwendungen

Amberlyst|r A-21, ion exchange resin is used as a heterogeneous catalyst for conversion of carbonyl compounds to oximes by reacting with hydroxylamine hydrochloride. It is an effective catalyst for the Michael addition of nitroalkanes to methyl acrylate.

Bemerkungen

Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong bases and nitric acid.

Effective catalyst for the Michael addition of nitroalkanes to methyl acrylate: Synthesis, 711 (1987), and also for the cleavage of 2-nitrocycloalkanones: Synthesis, 355 (1992).
