Applications

Mercuric chloride is used as a catalyst for the conversion of acetylene to vinyl chloride, the precursor to polyvinylchloride It is used as embalming chemical, photographic intensifier. It is also used as a treatment for syphilis and in very dilute solution as an antiseptic.

Notes

Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. It is sensitive to light and moisture. Incompatible with strong acids, ammonia, carbonates, metallic salts, alkalis, phosphites, phosphates, sulfites, sulfates, arsenic, antimony and bromides.
