Soluble in cold water, methanol, diethyl ether and alcohol.Slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid. Insoluble in organic solvents.


Zirconium dichloride oxide hydrate is used as a precursor for the manufacturing of other zirconium salts. It is also used in textile dyeing, oil-field acidizing, antiperspirants, water repellents and in titanium dioxide pigment coatings.


Hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, acids and alkalis.
