Applications

Cerium(III) nitrate hexahydrate is used in the separation of cerium from other rare earths. It plays an important role as a catalyst for hydrolysis of phosphoric acid esters.

Notes

Air sensitive. Hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong reducing agents and strong acids.
