Practically insoluble in water. Slightly soluble in dilute acetic acid. Freely soluble in dilute HNO{3}, ammonia, ammonium carbonate, alkali cyanides and thiosulfates.

Applications

Silver phosphate finds applications in photography, and in silver staining of biological materials. It is used as a photocatalyst for the visible light photochemical splitting of water, and for production of activated oxygen by the same method. It is employed in Crystal growth for scintillation, optics and dosimetry.

Notes

Light sensitive. Incompatible with strong oxidising agents.
