Applications

Thallium(I) acetate is used as a selective agent against gram-negative bacteria in selective media for the detection of mollicutes. It is also used in preparation of thallium derivatives. It is involved in the separation ore constituents by flotation method.

Notes

Hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and strong acids.
