Solubility
Soluble in ammonia, methyl acetate and potassium iodide. Slightly soluble in hydriodic acid and concentrated nitric acid. Insoluble in water, ethanol, diluted nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and diethyl ether.

Applications

Palladium(II) iodide is used in gravimetric analysis. It is involved in the synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical ureas.

Notes

Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and mineral acids.
