Applications

Barium nitrate is used in the manufacture of special glasses, in fire works industries and for green-fire in pyrotechnics. It is widely used in defense applications. It is a precursor material for barium oxide.

Notes

Stable. Strong oxidizing agent. Incompatible with metal/alloy powders, combustible material, reducing agents, acids, and acid anhydrides. Moisture sensitive.
