Perchloric acid, 0.1N in acetic acid standardized solution is used in volumetric analysis. It is useful for its super acid properties and it is also used as an etchant for certain metals.


Hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong bases, strong acids, amines, phosphorus halides, alcohols, organic materials, powdered metals and strong reducing agents.
