It is highly soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, selenium(IV) oxychloride, benzonitrile. Insoluble in ether, acetone.

Applications

Cadmium chloride is used in dyeing and prinitng textiles and in metal finishing baths.

Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Hygroscopic Air sensitive. Store under inert gas. Incompatabile to oxidizing agents, bromine trifluoride.
