Applications
It is employed to protect the kidneys from the harmful side effects of certain drugs used after organ transplantation as well as the liver from the harmful effects of alcohol. The solution of glycine plays an important role for deposition of alloys and metals. It is likewise useful for patients with acute alcohol hallucinosis. It is applied for treating schizophrenia, stroke, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and some rare inherited metabolic disorders.
