Applications

It is used to replenish electrolytes and restore water electrolyte balance in treating hypokalemia. It is also used in buffers, fertilizers and explosives and finds useful advantages in medicine, scientific applications, and food processing. It plays an important role for the extraction and solubilization of proteins.

Hygroscopic material. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids.
