Applications

Potassium bromide is used in a variety of applications such as spectroscopy, infrared transmission, as a laboratory reagent, and for the removal of peripheral membrane proteins. It is also used in photosensitive chemicals, paints and coatings.

Notes

Hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids, bromine trifluoride and bromine trichloride.
