Applications

Iridium(IV) oxide dihydrate is used with other rare oxides in the coating of anode-electrodes for industrial electrolysis and in microelectrodes for electrophysiology research. It is also used for reference electrode, which finds application in various fields biology, food industry, nuclear field, oil and gas industry.
