Soluble in water (4470 mg/ml at 20°C), ethanol, ether, 90% alcohol (2000 mg/ml), and water (4710 mg/ml at 25°C).

Applications

Zinc bromide is an optimal catalyst for stereospecific and regioselective reaction of silacyclopropanes with carbonyl compounds. Zinc bromide is employed as a lewis acid in organic chemistry. Has been used as a transparent shield against radiation.

Notes

Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container. Do not store in metal containers. Keep away from active metals. Incompatible to Water, strong oxidizing agents, active metals, potassium, sodium, Corrosive to steel and aluminum.
