Applications

6.0N HClsolution acts as a standard solution in volumetric titrations. In addition, it has industrial applications such as chemical transformations in hydrochlorination of rubber and production of vinyl and alkyl halide. In the semiconductor industry, it is used to etch semiconductor crystal and to purify silicon.

Notes

Corrosive. HCl acts as a corrosive hydrogen chloride when it comes in contact with water found in body tissue.
