Zirconium oxide is widely used in the production of ceramics. It is found in the applications including protective coating on particles of titanium dioxide pigments, as a refractory material, in insulation, abrasives and enamels. It is used as a solid electrolyte in electrochromic devices. It is employed in oxygen sensors and fuel cell membranes at high temperatures.


Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
