Applications

6-Chloropurine is used in the preparation of 9-alkylpurines through alkylation with various substituted alkyl halides in dimethyl sulfoxide. It is also used to prepare 6-succinoaminopurine.

Notes

Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
