Soluble in dilute nitric acid, alkali, acid ammonium hydrogen oxidation and tartaric acid ammonium solution, insoluble in water and alcohol.

Applications

Used as a raw material in organic chemistry for the synthesis of other chiral molecules. The acid has served in the farming and metal industries as a chelating agent for complexing micronutrients.
