Applications

3-(3,4-Methylenedioxyphenyl)propionic acid exhibits anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. Further, it is used in the preparation of 3-benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl-propionyl chloride by reaction with thionyl chloride.

Notes

Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong reducing agents, strong bases and amines.
