Applications

Lanthanum(III) nitrate hydrate serves as a raw material for the electrochemical synthesis of LaMnO<sub>4</sub>, which is a thin film coating on stainless steel substrate. It is also used in preparation of La<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>S. Further, it is used in phosphors, fluorescent display tubes and heat transfer measurement.

Notes

Hygroscopic. Incompatible with strong reducing agents and strong acids.
