Applications

2-Methyl-2-imidazoline is used in the synthesis of series of N,N,N?-trisubstituted ethylenediamine derivatives. It may be used in the preparation of 1-alkyl-2-methyl-2-imidazolines, via alkylation with organic halides in the presence of phase transfer catalysis and absence of solvent.

Notes
