Applications

1-Chloro-2-iodobenzene is used as a precursor and involved in the preparation of 2,2'-dichloro-biphenyl. It is also used to prepare N,N-diaryl-o-phenylenediamines and 4(5)-(2-chlorophenyl)-1H-imidazole. It reacts with lanthanum metal in the presence of trimethylchlorosilane to prepare 1-chloro-2-trimethylsilylbenzene.

Notes

Light sensitive. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids and bases. Store in a cool place. Keep the container tightly closed.
