Applications

n-Butyl methacrylate is used as a building block of polymer based products that are used in paints and coatings, resins, adhesives, toners and inks, oil additives for dental and medical products. Its polymer polybutyl methacrylate (PBMA) with the sodium salt of partially carboxymethylated guar gum (Na-PCMGG, DS = 0.497) is synthesized using ceric ammonium nitrate as a redox initiator.

Notes

Incompatible with strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidizing agents and strong reducing agents. Store in a cool place.
