Soluble in water and 1 M HCl (50 mg/ml).
Applications
It is known to inhibit cell division, and is also used by certain types of bacteria (such as Escherichia coli) as a source of L-Histidine. It can be used in the design of peptide drugs, cationic peptides, such as analogues of carnosine and also be used as a heavy metal sequestration agent.
Notes
Store away from oxidizing agents. Keep the container tightly closed and place it in a cool, dry and well ventilated condition.
