Applications

It can be used for the conversion, by exchange, of carboxylic acids to nitriles, by heating in the presence of phosphoric acid. The equilibrium is displaced by cyclization to glutarimide. It is also used in the preparation of dicarbonyl compounds.

Notes

Hygroscopic. Protect from water/moisture and oxidizing agents. Keep the container tightly closed and place it in a cool, dry and well ventilated condition.
