Applications

Soybean oil is used as a base for printing inks and oil paints. It is also used as a fixative to extend the short duration of action of essential oils such as geranium oil in several commercial products. Further, it is used on citrus fruits and domestic dwellings. It is also employed in the determination of freezing point of soybean oil. It plays as a delivery vehicle of alfa-lipoic acid. In addition to this, it is used as a condiment for salads as well as involved in the synthesis of epoxidized-soybean oil (ESO).

Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
