Applications

Penicillin G sodium salt is used as a &#946;-lactam antibiotic. Penicillin G can be used as a selective agent in several types of isolation media. It has been used to study the diagnostic and therapeutic implications of gentamicin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis sequence type 6 with reduced penicillin susceptibility and in cell culture both alone and combined with streptomycin and other antibiotics.
