Soluble in water (10 mg/ml), phosphate buffers (10 mg/ml), and balanced salt solutions (1 mg/ml).

Applications

Trypsin is used as a pancreatic serine protease, used to dissolve blood clots in its microbial form and treat inflammation in its pancreatic form. Trypsin is commonly used in biological research. Trypsins have also been used for the re-suspension of cells during cell culture, in proteomics research for digestion of proteins and in various in-gel digestions.

Notes

Minimum 2500 USP units/mg. One unit causes a decrease in absorbance at 253nm of 0.003 per minute at 25°C.
