BSA blocking buffer, 5% in PBS, with 0.05% Tween-20

Chemical Properties

Insoluble in water.

Buffered BSA solution used to block ELISA strips and as a diluent of primary and secondary antibodies used for ELISA applications. BSA is useful for saturating excess protein-binding sites on membranes and microplates in immunoassays. Blocker BSA is usually more effective than nonfat milk blocking buffers for biotin-avidin systems. Use as a diluent for antigens, antibodies, and other proteins only after sensitization of the microwell plate or membrane.

5% Bovine serum albumin in phosphate-buffered saline, 0.05% Tween-20, pH 7.4
