Human Vascular Endothelial Cell Growth Factor, h-VEGF, is an angiogenesis factor produced by vascularized tissue. It is unique in that its activity is specific for endothelial cells and it has vascular permeability activity. VEGF is a recombinant DNA produced dimer (38kDa, >98% by SDS-PAGE) consisting of two 165 amino acid chains covalently linked via disulfide bond. Each lot is evaluated on capillary endothelial cells for biological activity (6-10ng/ml). Packaged as a lyophilized solid.
