Chemical Properties

Form
Powder
Melting point
87-89°
Sensitivity
Moisture Sensitive & Hygroscopic
Solubility
Soluble in water(10g/L).

Applications

Standard agarose suitable for most general applications. Good gel strength and clarity. Agarose is useful in separation of nucleic acids electrophoretically because agarose gels have larger pore sizes than cross linked acrylamide gels at low concentrations and in chromatographic separations by either beading the agarose or cross-linking it.

Notes

Gel strength (1.5% w/v): >1120g/cm^2; Gelling temperature: 36-39°C; EEO: <0.12
