Chemical Properties

Form
Solid
Solubility
Reconstitute in water at 1µg/µl

Applications

Cathepsin D, human liver is useful for inhibitor screening, kinetic studies, and cleavage of substrates in vitro or in tissue culture. It contains the mannose-6-phosphate lysosomal localization signal that targets the enzyme to the lysosomal compartment where it functions in the normal degradation of proteins. It is a useful prognostic indicator for breast cancer.

Notes

A lyophilized powder containing phosphate buffer salt. Activity is greater than 300 units per mg protein. One unit will product an increase of A280 of 1.0 per 60 minutes at 37°C, measured as TCA-soluble products using acid-denatured hemoglobin as substrate.
