Applications

N,N'-Methylenebisacrylamide is used as an intermediate and cross-linking agent utilized in the preparation of polymers like polyacrylamide. It is also used in biochemistry for the preparation of polyacrylamide gels, which is useful for the electrophoretic separation of nucleic acids and proteins. Further, it is employed in the synthesis of acrylic resin and adhesives. In addition to this, it is used as a plugging agent in oilfield drilling and construction grouting.

Notes

Air and light sensitive. Store in a cool place. Incompatible with acids, bases, oxidizing agents, reducing agents, iron, iron salts, copper, aluminum, brass and free radical initiators.
