tert-Butyl acetate is used as a solvent in the production of lacquers, enamels, inks, adhesives, thinners, industrial cleaners and coating blends It is also used as a process solvent for chemical reactions and polymerization. In synthetic organic chemistry, it is used as a tert-butyl group. It serves as an intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals and synthetic flavorings.
