Applications

4-(Chloromethyl)phenyltrimethoxysilane is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, the introduction of benzylium perchlorate groups onto the surface was achieved by the reaction of silver perchlorate with surface benzyl chloride groups, which were introduced by the treatment of silica with 4-(chloromethyl)phenyltrimethoxysilane.

Notes

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store under dry inert gas. Incompatible with oxidizing agents and bases. It is sensitive to moisture.
