Nanoparticle Design Services is a ground-breaking program that allows our customers an opportunity to engage with Cerion’s expert R&D team. The process begins with a consultation to outline the technical specifications and custom requirements. Development will then commence in the lab or at pilot scale, with commercialization potential to full manufacturing volumes.

New Lab Start-Up Program now available in Europe

August 12, 2015, Heysham, UK– Alfa Aesar, A Johnson Matthey Company, has extended its New Lab Start-Up Program to include Europe.

The New Lab Start-Up Program is available throughout 2015. It is designed to make Alfa Aesar products available to researchers through an affordable discount program; previously it has only been available in the UK, US and Canada.  

Alfa Aesar is committed to making it easier for new labs to obtain research chemicals, metals and materials. The process has been made very simple. Complete the registration form and return to an Alfa Aesar representative, who will then advise if the eligibility criteria has been met. Once approved, items can be purchased through the New Lab Start-Up Program. A confirmation email will be sent out and will include additional information on how to get started.

Alfa Aesar’s West Coast Distribution Center is thriving

July 30, 2015

July 28, 2015 – Ward Hill, MA – In September 2013, Alfa Aesar, a Johnson Matthey Company, opened the 110,000 square foot distribution center in Sparks, Nevada. This distribution center opened to serve the western states of California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Utah and Idaho. Alfa Aesar continues to see increased demand from our West Coast customers. 

The vision was to offer rapid and economical delivery to the 7 states. By June 2014, Alfa Aesar had reached 12 states. Today we can reveal that 20 states are now receiving faster deliveries and benefiting from reduced freight costs.

Johnson Matthey agrees sale of Research Chemicals Business Alfa Aesar

June 26, 2015

Johnson Matthey announces that it has agreed to divest its Alfa Aesar Research Chemicals business to Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, for £256 million in cash, subject to typical post-closing adjustments.  The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the 2015 calendar year, subject to satisfaction of typical pre-closing conditions.    
Johnson Matthey’s Research Chemicals business, which operates globally under the Alfa Aesar brand, is a supplier of over 46,000 specialty chemicals into both industry and academic institutions in small scale research quantities via its catalogue.  It has a global network of operations with eight core sites supported by five stand-alone sales offices.  In total, the business employs approximately 480 people and is part of Johnson Matthey’s Fine Chemicals Division.
