Aplicaciones

4-Methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride is used as an anti-HIV as Pharmaceutical Intermediates. It also acts as protecting group agent for various nitrogen functions.

Also used for protection of the guanidino function of arginine residues in peptide synthesis. The sulfonamide is cleaved by triflic acid under less drastic conditions than tosyl groups: Chem. Pharm.
