Applications

It is commonly used as an oxidant forming silver metal. It is often used as a reagent in inorganic and organometallic chemistry. It is used in the preparation of engineering novel materials as well as in preparation of supra molecular Ag(I) complexes. It is used in the development of new catalysts, replacing halide ligands with the weakly coordinating hexafluorophosphate anion.

Notes

Stable under room temperatures and pressures. Moisture sensitive, hygroscopic, and may discolor on exposure to light. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and strong acids.
