Applications

Potassium hexachloroplatinate(IV) is used for the determination of potassium by gravimetric analysis. It is also used to prepare potassium tetrchloroplatinate by reduction using hydrazine dihydrochloride. Further, it is used in photography.

Notes

Incompatible with acids, interhalogen compounds and strong oxidizing agents.
