Soluble in water (50 mg/ml). It dissolves in ethyl alcohol ,acid and in organic solvent.

Applications

It is suitable for use in ELISA procedures. In neurohistochemistry o-Dianisidine dihydrochloride has demonstrated perikaryal labeling as well as retrograde and anterograde transport to the primary olfactory cortex. It has also been used for a paper based-micro fluidic device to semi-quantitatively measure lactate, uric acid, and glucose. 3,3'-Dimethoxybenzidine is used principally as an intermediate in the production of commercial bisazobiphenyl dyes for coloring textiles, paper, plastic, rubber, and leather.

Notes

Store away from oxidizing agents. Keep the container tightly sealed and store in cool, dry condition in well ventilated place.
