Applications

Benzyltriethylammonium borohydride involves in the conversion of alkenes to the anti-Markovnikov alcohols in presence of TMS chloride or TiCl4. It combines with TMS chloride, selectively reduces carboxylic acids to alcohols; esters, lactones, nitro- and chloro-substituents are unaffected. It is used as reducing reagent.

Notes

Moisture sensitive. Store away from moisture and oxidizing agents under dry inert gas. Protect from humidity and water. Incompatible with oxidizing agents and moisture.
