1-Cyano-4-(dimethylamino)pyridinium tetrafluoroborate is a cyanylation reagent for protein sulfhydryl groups and used to prepare protein-polysaccharide conjugates. It is employed as an activating agent for polysaccharide resins and conjugation of lipopolysaccharides while retaining endotoxic activity.
