Applications

TMB is a substrate for horseradish peroxidase. Recommended for ELISA (microwell) procedures,3,3?,5,5?-Tetramethylbenzidine has been used in a study to demonstrate that by measuring substrate absorption values off the absorption maximum, the measuring range of any immunoenzymometric assay can be extended significantly without jeopardizing assay characteristics. 3,3?,5,5?-Tetramethylbenzidine has also been used in a study to understand the formation of CuS concave superstructures with peroxidase-like activity.

Notes

The TMB solution has similar sensitivity levels to chemiluminescent detection reagents; it can detect as little as 0.15 ng. The TMB solution provided is enough for at least 25 mini-gel sized (10 X 10 cm) blots. Store at 2-8°C. Keep the substrate out of direct sunlight.
