4-Vinylphenol acts as a monomer and used in the preparation of poly-4-vinylphenol polymer, which is used in electronics as a dielectric layer in organic transistors in organic thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal displays (TFT LCD). It is a phenolic compound and presents in wine and beer.
